Ryan was raised in Northern Rivers, New South Wales and relocated to Noosa, Sunshine Coast where he started his apprenticeship in his late teens. Once qualified, he moved to Melbourne to work at the 2 Hat establishment – The Press Club. He then received an opportunity of cooking privately in the French Alps and Mediterranean for high-end clients, celebrities, sports stars, and business people. Ryan returned to Noosa briefly before departing to start a luxurious career on superyachts. Spending several years between Fiji, Hawaii and other Pacific Islands crafting new dishes using the freshest seafood and locally sourced ingredients with the help of villagers, his love for creating premium dining experiences was found. With thousands of sea miles and equator crossings under his belt he then decided to start something of his own: The Ohana Group – an event & catering company that provides food trucks, private chef’s table, exclusive event spaces, offsite catering and in-house private chefs.
